Senior Account Director EMEA, Ridecell
Daniel is a Cleantech Evangelist. He studied Environmental and Business Management at the University of Applied Sciences Trier (Umwelt Campus) and has an MA in International Marketing and Sales (Technical University Mittelhessen /Victoria University Melbourne). During an internship in 1998 at the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal EPA), he had his first experience with EVs (Electric Vehicles) and was driving a couple of 100% EVs, which were charged with solar energy – that was a sparking experience in his life.
Daniel worked for more than 10 years in the solar energy industry in sales, business development, and management positions for various companies (e.g., for Conergy, where he was one of the first employees). Later on, Daniel was working as a consultant, while still focusing on the cleantech industry. In his role as Startup Consultant Green Technologies for the Startup Dock of the Technical University Hamburg, he got into the world of innovation and startups. In 2015, Daniel was VP Europe for Floatility, a Hamburg-Singapore based Mobility as a Service (MaaS) startup. Since then, Daniel has been very passionate about the world of new and urban mobility. In March 2017, Daniel joined the Silicon Valley–based tech company Ridecell, as Senior Account Director EMEA. Ridecell offers an intelligent mobility solution, by providing a white-label end-to-end platform for ridesharing and carsharing, as well as for autonomous services. Daniel is stationed in Hamburg and part of the European Ridecell entity Ridecell EMEA GmbH – his geographic focus is the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Poland, and CE/EE. He lives in Hamburg and has been “car-free” for 7 years – instead of owning cars, he is enjoying riding his bicycle, public transport, and all forms of carsharing and ridesharing.
